BalTec Radial riveting technology
The BalTec Radial riveting technology is considered to be the most modern riveting principle world-wide. Wherever high-quality joints are demanded, there is no comparable process today. Even joints that were previously possible only with other techniques can now be made by radial riveting.
The tool describes a rose-petal path (hypocycloid) causing gentle, efficient deformation. With relatively little axial force, the yielding point of the rivet material is reached over the small contact area between the punch and the rivet. With the hypocycloid path, the material flows predominantly in the radial direction.
- Excellent surface structure of the closing head
With the Radial riveting process, the tool does not itself rotate. The friction between tool and work-piece is thus at a minimum. The result is an excellent surface structure.
- Low workpiece loading
Even bakelite or ceramic parts can be riveted. Lateral forces are negligible. Clamping is usually unnecessary.
